General Rules

General Rules: •Schools must confirm their registration latest by Monday 16th August, 2010. The entry form should be faxed at 011-23984152 or e-mail it to us at 'interface@stxaviers.edu.in' •The participants will have to work with the software provided by the organizer and will not be allowed to install any other. •Participating schools to report at the registration counter at 8.00 am and confirm details of participation. There will be no registration after scheduled time. •Latecomers will get no additional time. •All the entries should be in block letters. •School students must be present during the prize distribution ceremony to collect the prizes. •Judges decision will be final and binding on all. •Participation in minimum five events is essential. •For any queries contact: 011-23957778. 1.Unimaginable Imaging •This is an open event. •Only one participant is allowed to participate in this event •Image can be created using Adobe Photoshop only. •A CD containing image in .psd format with all the layers along with .jpg format is to be submitted at the time of registration. •The topic for this event is: “Design a cover for an action game”. (At least three characters should be there in the image. Characters can be used from movies.) 2.The Perfect Programmer •This event is meant for classes 11th and 12th. •A team of two participants will be allowed to participate in this event. •Time allotted to each team will be 1 hour. •Turbo C++ will be provided to the participants. 3.Cracking Netbeans •This event is meant for the classes 11th and 12th. •A team of two participants will be allowed to participate in this event. •Time allotted to each team will be 1 hour. •NetBeans IDE 6.5.1 will be provided to the participants. 4.Whiz Quiz •This event is an open event. •A team of two participants will be allowed to participate in this event. •Preliminary round :- Written elimination round consisting of questions related to nitty gritty world of computing and technology. • Final Round: - Best five teams will compete in the final round on the basis of their performance in the elimination round. 5.Video Editing •This event is meant for the classes 11th and 12th only. •A team of two participants will be allowed to participate in this event. •Time allotted to each team will be 1 hour. •Windows Movie Maker will be provided to the participants. •If required participants are allowed to use Macromedia Flash and Adobe Photoshop. •Topic for this event will be disclosed on the spot. •Participants will be provided with images and videos related to the topic and are not allowed to use any external material. 6.Gaming 2.0 •This is an open event. •Only one participant will be allowed to take part in this event. •The game will be disclosed on the spot. •The participants should be prepared for any type of game including console gaming. •The participants are not allowed to bring their own gaming gears. 7.Cross-word •This event is an open event. •A team of two participants will be allowed to take part in this event. •Further rules will be given on the spot. 8.Webbing Your Web •This event is meant for the classes 9th and 10th only. •A team of two participants will be allowed to take part in this event. •Topic for this event will be given on the spot. •Time allotted to each team will be 1 hour. •Participants will be provided with NOTEPAD editor only. 9.Robo Rash •This is an open event. •A team of two participants will be allowed to take part in this event. •Participants are required to make a robot to participate in the race. The race track will consist of hurdles like speed breakers, crossing a pool of water, etc. so your robot should be efficient enough to cross these types of hurdles. •Participants will not be provided with any power source and have to bring their own batteries for the event. •Marks will be given on the basis of originality and design of the robot. •Further rules will be given on the spot. 10.Flash Your Imagination •This event is meant for classes 11th and 12th only. •A team of two students are allowed to participate in this event. •A CD is to be submitted at the time of registration containing a movie on the topic made using Macromedia Flash only and should be saved in .flv and .flp format. •The topic for the movie is: “Superhero movie”. 11.Technoholik •This is an open event. •A team of two participants will be allowed to take part in this event. one will be the speaker and other will be the computer operator. •Each team will be given a max. time of 2 min. to present a review on the latest technology or any futuristic projection. •Participants will be provided with computer to present a presentation.
