Leadership Training Service

“For God and Country” is the motto of the Leadership Training Service Club of our school. Formed for the first time in the year 1958 at Goethals Memorial School, near Darjeeling, the LTS came to St. Xavier's School, Delhi in the year 1972. It was inspired by Fr. R. Wirth, the All-India Promoter and was formed under the guidance of Fr. Pio Mascarenhas of Vidya Jyyoti. Any leader must be selfless and with this objective in mind, the LTS club aims to give its members a vision and motivation to actualize it. It helps them to view life with clearer eyes. Meetings, seminars, debates, group discussion are just a part of the LTS. It also works in practical spheres like social inquiry (for eg. finding out how many people are illiterate in a locality and arranging for their education.) For over 25 years, the LTS club worked to achieve its aim under the supervision of Mr. S. Joseph in St Xavier's. The club again revived its activities in 2009 under the supervision of Fr. Paul Wenish, S.J. Mrs. S. Miranda is its present moderator. Dafy George (12D) is the President, Ashith Joe Dev (12D) is vice-president, Sandeep Bhatia (12D) is the secretary and Archit Saraf (12D) the treasurer. In 2008 as well as in 2009 the LTS club organised a 'BAL MELA' for the underprivileged children from the nearby slums. This year the program was organised with the active cooperation of all the students of class 12.
